Set up a project with npx donobu init

One command configures the Donobu registry, installs @donobu/test with your package manager, keeps .env out of git, and installs the agent skill for your coding agent.

Getting a repository ready for Donobu is now one command. npx donobu init finds your Donobu API key in the environment or .env, writes the registry entry to .npmrc, and installs @donobu/test with the package manager the project already uses. It then installs the agent skill and prints a status check.

  • Detects npm, pnpm, or yarn and writes .npmrc in that tool's own form
  • Adds .env to .gitignore if it is not covered
  • Safe to run again; it changes only what is missing
  • Exits with clear instructions when no API key is available
